    Daily Desire - Meiosis Backpack

Meiosis Backpack designed by Davidi GalidRecently while searching for backpacks (spurred by one seen in Paranoia 1.0 and leading to finding a great price on a Logitech Kinetik 15.4 Backpack ) I came across the "Meiosis".

Meiosis means is a process of reductional division in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half--and that's pretty much what this bag looks like it's replicating.

The Meiosis backpack designed by Davidi Gilad. It's an equipment bag which utilizes the physical properties of the elastic materials in which the bag is made.

    Here's how David describes it:

The backpack is the development of a new way of assembly that utilizes the physical attributes of the materials from which it is made. It is constructed of a three-dimensional polygon system, which is the result of released tensions and convergence of the material.

While the backpack parts are in that state, the bag gets its exterior shape, and remains so due to geometric locks as a result of the shrink. The relationship between the parts enables the opening and closing of the backpack, and determines its design and unique shape.

Sadly this is only a concept, but you can reach the designer by email at gilad.davidi@gmail.com
